About the event
Sacred Song Circle
A gathering of voices, hearts and deep connection: come together in a circle for community singing led by Megan Callahan as a sacred expression of presence and being.
Join us in singing to the Beloved, which is an ancient tradition in many cultures, blending Kirtan, medicine songs, and sacred music from various traditions, Megan will guide us to open our voices and hearts in collective harmony.
There is something tender and powerful about raising our voices together- listening to one another, finding a shared rhythm and allowing each voice to become part of something larger, and to carry that prayer and intention beyond the walls in which we sing to where and whom needs it.
You don't need a polished voice to bring something beautiful to the circle. Come with curiosity, an open heart and your own unique voice. Let us gather, sing and remember ourselves as Divine expressions of harmony. Megan has been leading and singing devotional music for over 30 years. There will be a portion of the night during which the circle will be open for others to share a song if they feel called.
Our song will span different traditions and languages and include some Kirtan which is an ancient devotional musical and communal tradition, rooted in Bhakti yoga. Mostly call and response style, this beautiful practice originated in ancient India and involves singing sacred mantras, mostly in Sanskrit to to foster inner peace, joy, spiritual connection, emotional and mental wellbeing as well as community bonding.
All are welcome, regardless of spiritual beliefs and tradition for this powerful practice and community experience. Megan Callahan and friends will lead the group in simple and accessible songs and chants.
