Kirtan & Healing Sound Bath

Join Megan Callahan and Jane Lorenz for an evening of healing, sacred and celebratory sounds. The night begins with a kirtan (communal call and response chanting) followed by a deeply healing sound bath. Kirtan is an ancient devotional musical and communal tradition, rooted in Bhakti yoga. Mostly call and response style, this beautiful practice originated in ancient India and involves singing sacred mantras, mostly in Sanskrit, to foster inner peace, joy, spiritual connection, emotional and mental wellbeing as well as community bonding.

When the chanting concludes, participants will then be guided into a restorative pose and deep relaxation to experience the healing container of a sound bath. Sound, both making it ourselves while chanting and receiving a vibrational attunement of a sound bath, has a tremendous effect on the central nervous system, helping it to unwind and facilitating healing. Let the acoustics of the crystal bowls, drums, chimes, and vocals help to integrate the medicine from the mantras shared earlier in the evening.
